Competitor facts were checked on October 8, 2026, on each vendor’s own pages and its US App Store listing; Lightshot’s side comes from the app. This compares documentation, not measured accuracy or speed. “Not found” means we didn’t find it in their documentation, which is weaker than “no”. Prices and plans change.

Teleprompter Apps Ltd publishes two listings: Teleprompter, a free app with paid upgrades, and Teleprompter Pro, which used to be called Teleprompter Premium. Teleprompter Premium+, released in June 2026 by Roadtrip Technologies, is a different app from a different developer.

Teleprompter Pro column: the Teleprompter Pro listing and the Teleprompter listing (ratings and counts from Apple’s lookup service), and teleprompterpro.com, read October 8, 2026. Version 3.85.0, released September 29, lists “New improved video recording controls and options”.

Lightshot’s column comes from the app. The networks you can connect are listed in Settings, Connected accounts; each network has to approve Lightshot first, and TikTok and YouTube posts stay private until those reviews pass. Lightshot has no App Store ratings yet.

Do you want the script to follow you, or to keep a set speed?

This app scrolls at a speed: continuous, a page at a time, or timed to a length. With an operator at a laptop or a presenter who has rehearsed, a set speed is often exactly right, and the listing describes controlling it from another device, a browser or a game controller.

Lightshot’s voice-follow is for the person who films alone. The script moves at the pace it learns from you and settles on the next unread word when you stop. If you prefer a set speed, turn it off and use auto pace from 60 to 240 words per minute; a remote’s Faster and Slower buttons change it by 10. The reading-speed guide helps you pick a starting pace.

Which works better on a glass rig or in a studio?

For a studio, it does more. It drives other iPads and iPhones over Bluetooth, a browser on the same Wi-Fi, external displays and AirPlay with their own mirroring, and the IKAN Elite Remote. Its mirrored text for professional rigs sits in the paid tier.

Lightshot links one iPhone to one iPhone. The prompter-only phone shows the script full screen, listens with its own microphone, and has “Mirror horizontally” and “Mirror vertically” switches for glass, on every plan. Pairing uses a six-digit code shown on both phones; the two-iPhone guide walks through a setup. Check the script and position on both phones before you record.

What do you get once the take is recorded?

On the paid tier it can generate .srt caption files, and it shares recordings to other apps. We didn’t find automatic silence cuts or an editor in its listings.

Lightshot keeps going on the phone. Redo the last sentence replaces a fluffed line during the take, a tap on Auto edit removes the gaps between sentences and times captions to your voice, and the editor can reshape the frame to 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9.

Where Teleprompter Pro may fit better

Pick it for multi-screen rigs, for an operator who controls the speed, for iPad, Mac or Vision, and for game controllers or IKAN hardware. You can start with the free Teleprompter app and buy once instead of subscribing. Across its two listings it has nearly 50,000 ratings; Lightshot has none yet.

Where Lightshot may fit better

Pick Lightshot when you are both the presenter and the crew. The script follows your voice, a remote or pedal button can redo a sentence or hold the script, and the edit, captions and shapes are done before you leave the phone. Mirroring for a glass rig comes in the same subscription as everything else; there is no higher tier.
