Agreeing to these terms
By using the Lightshot app, creating a Lightshot account or using this website, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Lightshot.
You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and old enough to hold accounts on any social network you connect.
The app
You get the Lightshot app from Apple’s App Store. Apple’s standard licensed application end user license agreement governs your license to use the app, alongside these terms. If the two conflict about the app itself, Apple’s agreement applies.
Some features depend on your iPhone, iOS version, language and Apple’s on-device models, and may not be available on every device or in every language.
Subscriptions
Using the app needs an active weekly, monthly or yearly subscription, bought in the app through the App Store. There is no free tier or free trial. Every plan includes the same features.
Apple charges your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.
Deleting the app or your Lightshot account doesn’t cancel a subscription. Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency before you buy.
Your Lightshot account
Using Lightshot needs a Lightshot account. You create it with Sign in with Apple when you choose a plan in the app (Google sign-in isn’t offered yet). Your subscription belongs to the account, so it works on every iPhone you sign in on, and the account keeps your connected social accounts.
An account is for one person. Keep the Apple Account you sign in with secure, and any Google account you sign in with once that’s offered: whoever can sign in to it can use your Lightshot account. You can delete your Lightshot account at any time in the app under Settings › Account.
Your content
Your scripts, recordings, captions and edits are yours. Lightshot doesn’t claim ownership of them.
When you post or schedule a video, you allow Lightshot to store that video, its captions and the options you chose, and to send them to the networks you picked, only as needed to publish them and show you their status. Lightshot deletes the video once posting finishes, as the privacy policy describes.
You’re responsible for what you record and post. Only post content you have the right to share, including any music, images or other people who appear in it.
Posting to social networks
When you connect a social network account, you allow Lightshot to post to it on your behalf, only when you ask it to, at the time you choose. You can disconnect an account in the app at any time.
Lightshot posts to YouTube through YouTube API Services. By using Lightshot to connect or post to YouTube, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s use of your information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Each network’s own terms apply to what you post there, including the YouTube Terms of Service, TikTok’s terms of service, Meta’s terms, Instagram’s terms of use and the LinkedIn User Agreement. Lightshot isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by these networks.
Networks decide what they accept and can change or withdraw access at any time. Lightshot checks each post against the limits the networks publish, but can’t guarantee that a network will accept, keep or show a post, or that a scheduled post goes out at exactly the time chosen if a network is unavailable.
Using Lightshot fairly
Don’t use Lightshot to post anything unlawful, to infringe anyone’s rights, to harass people, or to send spam. Don’t try to get around the subscription, overload or break into Lightshot’s service, or use it to reach data that isn’t yours. We may suspend an account that does these things.
Changes and ending
We improve Lightshot over time and may change or remove features. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and say so in the app or on this website before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Lightshot after that means you accept the new terms.
You can stop using Lightshot at any time. If an account breaks these terms, we may suspend or close it, and we’ll tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety prevents it.
Warranty and liability
We work hard to keep Lightshot reliable, but it is provided “as is”, to the extent the law allows, without warranties about uninterrupted service or fitness for a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything important.
To the extent the law allows, Lightshot isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for what a social network does with a post, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Lightshot in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law in your country gives you and that can’t be excluded.
