Competitor facts were checked on October 8, 2026, on each vendor’s own pages and its US App Store listing; Lightshot’s side comes from the app. This compares documentation, not measured accuracy or speed. “Not found” means we didn’t find it in their documentation, which is weaker than “no”. Prices and plans change.

Where the CapCut facts come from: the pages linked in the table and CapCut’s US App Store listing (rating and count from Apple’s lookup service), read October 8, 2026; the Standard and Pro page, dated September 23, 2026, was read again on October 9.

Lightshot’s column comes from the app. The networks you can connect are listed in Settings, Connected accounts; each network has to approve Lightshot first, and TikTok and YouTube posts stay private until those reviews pass. Lightshot has no App Store ratings yet.

Which CapCut app has the teleprompter?

Only the phone app. CapCut’s teleprompter help says the tool isn’t available on CapCut Desktop; when we read it on September 27, 2026, it also said the tool isn’t supported on the web. If you edit in CapCut on a computer, plan to record on the phone.

The teleprompter tool page describes a script window you can move and resize, placed “near your device camera lens”, with a scrolling speed you control and a choice of “Multi-clips” or “One-shot” recording. The same page doesn’t describe the script following your words, which is what Lightshot’s voice-follow does.

What changes when you get a sentence wrong?

In Lightshot, Redo the last sentence removes the video back to the start of that sentence and rewinds the script. You keep the earlier part of the delivery and replace only the line. Pausing, deleting a whole part and redoing a sentence are separate buttons.

CapCut’s Multi-clips mode, described on its tool page, records in separate clips. We didn’t find a step that trims back to a sentence and rewinds the script. If the free prompter and later editing already work for you, that difference may not be worth another app.

Where CapCut may fit better

A video built from many clips, music and effects belongs in a multi-track editor, and CapCut is one many people already use. Lightshot’s editor is narrower: one take, its parts, captions, text, audio and looks.

Its Standard and Pro comparison says “Both Standard and Pro users can save the video in 8k resolution”. Lightshot offers 8K only where the iPhone can encode it. And CapCut’s prompter costs nothing to try.

You can also split the jobs: record in Lightshot, save the finished video, and bring it into CapCut. Decide whether the extra step helps before making it your routine.

Where Lightshot may fit better

CapCut’s Standard and Pro comparison lists the auto caption generator among Pro’s AI tools, and its Auto Reframe help said that tool needs Pro when we read it on September 27, 2026. Check the tool you’ll export with rather than treating a free download as the price of the whole job.

Every Lightshot plan, from $3.99 a week, includes silence cuts and captions and extra export shapes. Some resolutions depend on what the iPhone can encode, and demo takes export at their original size.

To decide, record a short script with a pause and one wrong line in each app. See how much editing is left, and whether you’d rather adjust a set speed or let your words move the script.
