Save or share from review
- Finish your take and review the playback. Complete any edits or caption corrections.
- Choose Save to Photos to add a copy to the photo library, granting permission when asked.
- Choose Share to pick a destination. Complete the final action in that app’s own sharing flow.
- For a connected direct destination, use Post or schedule and follow the account connection instructions.
Instagram’s Share path saves the video to Photos and opens its composer. Other destinations use their share extensions. Seeing a share sheet is not confirmation that a post was published; check the destination’s result.
Pick the size and extra shapes
Export settings include Original and 1080p, with 4K or 8K where the iPhone can encode them. 1080p shrinks a larger recording rather than enlarging a smaller one. Larger exports try on-device super resolution, falling back to a standard resize when the model or available memory cannot support it. Added pixels do not establish that the camera captured extra detail.
Also export as creates separate 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9 versions. Face framing follows a detected face, with a centered crop when none is found. Watch every shape before sending it: a label, prop or diagram can fall outside the crop. The export page explains those options.
Demo takes export only at Original size. Arrange the screen recording and presenter for the intended destination before narrating.
Export in the background and get notified
Begin the export while Lightshot is open. Once the progress screen says you can switch apps, you can leave it running on the iPhone. In Settings › Notifications, turn on Video exports and allow notifications in iOS. When the finished video is saved, Your video is ready opens the take with one tap. You can then review, save to Photos or share it.
Original and 1080p exports with ordinary captions, framing and looks can render without background graphics support. Quality tools, upscaling to 4K or 8K, background replacement, text behind the speaker and demo cutouts require the app to stay open on iPhones without that support. The progress screen tells you which applies to your export.
If iOS cannot grant background time, keep Lightshot open until the render ends. If work is interrupted, the partial video is removed and the manual editor offers Export again with the same choices. Swiping Lightshot away in the app switcher stops its work; it does not finish after a force-quit.
Understand warnings and failed exports
Share checks shape, duration and caption length and can offer a Fix action. These are warnings rather than a publishing block. Some coded checks differ from current platform limits; consult the destination’s current rules if a warning seems wrong. Direct posting has its own pre-upload checks.
If saving fails, check Photos permission and available storage. If an export fails repeatedly, send support the selected size and error message. Keep the original take while the problem is investigated.
