Lightshot’s column comes from the app. The networks you can connect are listed in Settings, Connected accounts; each network has to approve Lightshot first, and TikTok and YouTube posts stay private until those reviews pass. Lightshot has no App Store ratings yet.
Are Instagram and Edits the same thing?
No. Meta’s account of Edits confirms a teleprompter with adjustable text size and speed inside the Edits app. Instagram’s main camera got its own teleprompter, which Social Media Today reported on May 31, 2026, with the text “right below the front-facing camera”. Neither source describes the script following your voice.
Edits is changing. Meta has said a paid Edits Plus is in development without giving a price (Social Media Today, September 15, 2026), and TechMyMoney reported on October 5 that a new AI assistant is free with a daily prompt limit for US users.
Where Instagram or Edits may fit better
If the aim is a Reel and the camera you already have lets you read comfortably, staying there avoids another app and another subscription. Edits is free, has its own timeline, captions and visual tools, and exports 4K without a watermark.
Meta’s Edits introduction describes exporting without added watermarks and sharing to Instagram and Facebook. A free tool doesn’t trap the finished video inside Instagram, and for multi-clip editing Edits goes further tha Lightshot.
What does Lightshot add?
Lightshot’s voice-follow uses your script and the words it recognizes, learning your pace as you talk, and holds at the next unread word if you step away from the script. Recognition varies with the room and the microphone, so nothing here promises that every aside or accent is handled.
For a line you want to replace, sentence redo removes video as well as moving the text back. Lift, land and breathe marks suggest delivery before you record. Afterward, Auto edit cuts silences and adds captions on the iPhone when you tap it; it doesn’t replace your voice or correct your eyes. The reading guide covers the habits that still matter.
Where does the finished video go?
Lightshot’s export controls can make several shapes from an ordinary take; demo takes keep their original size. Posting and scheduling go to the networks you connect, and the posting page explains which account types each network accepts and why each one has to approve Lightshot first. Share hands the file to any other app.
