See what uses the space
Lightshot’s Settings › Storage separates Recordings, Edits and exports, Cleaned audio, Voice-overs, music and extras, Brand kit, and Temporary files. It also shows the largest takes, so you can choose which work to review.
For the whole phone, open Settings › General › iPhone Storage. Apple’s storage guide explains its categories and recommendations. App storage and the Photos library are separate places; a video saved to Photos can occupy space there as well as inside Lightshot.
Remove leftovers, then decide about takes
- Tap Remove leftover files in Lightshot’s Storage screen. This removes only files no take uses.
- Review the largest recordings and their edits.
- Export or save the work you need, then play the saved copy.
- Delete unwanted takes from the Takes tab only after deciding you no longer need the originals and their editing work.
Leftover-file cleanup does not choose takes to delete for you. The editor builds exports from the original recording, so a finished export is not a substitute for retaining the original when you expect to edit it again.
Know which library you are opening
The signed-in studio keeps a separate local library for each Lightshot account on this iPhone. Signing out closes the studio but leaves its files in place. Use the same account when you return. Signing in on a different phone restores subscription access, not the creative files from this one.
Save copies you want to keep before deleting your account. A newly created account does not open the deleted account’s library, even if the old files remain on the phone.
Keep future recordings manageable
Use 1080p capture when it fits the job; 4K recordings require more space. Export only the extra shapes you need. Save each take to Photos in Recording settings can keep a separate raw copy, but it also adds storage use.
Deleting Lightshot from this iPhone deletes every take inside the app. Account sign-in is not cloud storage for scripts or recordings. If space ran out while joining a take, read how to retry finishing saved parts before removing anything connected to that recording.
