Connect from Settings
- Sign in to Lightshot and open Settings › Connected accounts under the Account section.
- Choose an available network and complete its sign-in and permission screens.
- Check that the intended profile, Page or channel is connected.
- Open a finished video and choose Post or schedule. Review the destination, audience and caption before submitting.
Lightshot only posts when you ask it to. If it says No platforms are set up on Lightshot’s server yet., no direct destinations are currently configured there. Share or Save to Photos is a separate route for a finished file.
Use the supported account type
- Instagram posting is built for Reels on Business or Creator accounts.
- Facebook posting reaches Reels on a Page you manage, not personal profiles or groups.
- LinkedIn posting reaches your own member feed, not a company Page.
- YouTube posting reaches your channel; TikTok posting reaches your TikTok account when available.
- X is reached through Share rather than a direct connection.
Platform review can still restrict a connection. TikTok posts stay private before its audit, and YouTube uploads stay private before verification. Meta or TikTok testing can limit access to test accounts. Read the notices in the composer; a visible network name does not establish unrestricted publishing.
Follow the upload and the result
Check Posts after sending a video. If transfer pauses when you leave Lightshot, return to the app with a connection so it can continue. A scheduled time is useful only after the upload and schedule have completed.
If the message says publication could not be confirmed, look on the destination before choosing Try again. Check YouTube Studio for a YouTube upload. The network may already have the video, and a manual retry can post it twice.
Settings › Notifications › Posts going out controls optional post notices after you allow notifications. You can always return to Posts to inspect the result.
Disconnect or troubleshoot
Return to Connected accounts to disconnect a network. Reconnect there if authorization has expired, then check your selected destination again. If your subscription has ended, open Account and Manage posts & connections while signed in to disconnect a network or cancel pending posts. A video already on its way may still publish; inspect the provider’s result. Posting and scheduling explains pre-upload checks and the Posts tab’s status messages.
Finished videos are uploaded to Lightshot’s server when you post or schedule. Network access tokens stay encrypted on that server. See the privacy policy for retention. When reporting a connection failure to support, include the network and exact error, never a password or access token.
