If a call or app switch interrupted recording
Return to Lightshot and check the paused recorder. A call, camera interruption or leaving the app pauses the take and keeps the recorded parts. Check your microphone and position, then resume or choose Finish recording.
If the interrupted sentence needs replacing, use the redo or delete-part controls. Closing a paused recorder is different: its discard confirmation says the recorded segments will be deleted. Keep that dialog open until you are sure which action you want.
If the app closed
- Open Lightshot again.
- If A take was recovered appears, tap Show Takes.
- Open the recovered take and play the ending. Confirm which words survived before recording a replacement.
- Save a separate copy once you have checked it.
Recording parts are written in fragments. An interrupted part can contain video only up to its last completed fragment, so the final moments may be missing. Recovery is a design behavior, not a guarantee: the force-quit and call cases have not completed physical-device validation.
If finishing fails
A full iPhone can prevent the parts from joining. Lightshot keeps those parts when joining fails. Free some storage, return to the paused recording and use the finish checkmark to retry.
Do not delete the app as a recovery step; that deletes takes held inside it. If there is no recovered take, report the interruption to support with the approximate time, iPhone model, app version and message shown. There is no promise that unavailable recording data can be restored.
